Tommy Karlas, native of East Alton, Illinois, began writing songs and making trips to Music City when he was 14. He then made the move to Nashville when he was 19. Shortly after moving to town, Karlas signed his first publishing deal after having a select few songs chosen from a BMI workshop series. Tommy has spent almost 10 years writing for various publishers in Nashville. The singer-songwriter has had cuts by some of country music’s biggest artists including Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, as well as the multi-week No.1 “Roll With Me” recorded by Montgomery Gentry. The song earned Karlas a 2009 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year nomination.
